H2 314 Architecture Studio Residence
Green architecture has become an invaluable tool in the hands of contemporary architects and constructors, with many willing to put beauty aside for ecology. However, this is not the case for the H2 314 Architecture Studio residence by Pavlos Chatziangelidis we are looking at today, which manages to combine an eco-friendly design with aesthetics.
The H2 residence situated at the suburb of Athens next to the Golf court in Glyfada has a breathtaking view to the Argosaronic Sea.
The building consists of three one floor apartments of 250m2 each. Each apartment nests two small and one master bedrooms. The team took advantage of bioclimatic architecture and translated it in such a way that the materials used infused beauty everywhere. The harmony created by the colour choices and natural materials manage to create a most luxurious yet welcome feeling. The sculptures of Gianni Aspras adorning the living room walls create abstract and modern warm emotions.
Rock, wood, glass and marble mingle together to expose the power of natural materials to artificial ones. The inside atrium that provides light to secondary areas of the apartments while also working as a funnel exit for warm air energy consumption in the summer months is an asset to the interior design of the apartments. Water is also one of the most prevailing elements of the building. The pool surrounding the house and the small pond on the ground floor come as the last piece of the puzzle that together with the view to the sea create a very tranquil and cooling feeling throughout the year while at the same time reminding the houses’ residents how valuable water is to our life.
